The spawn point that was killing you
We pulled the death data from last week. The numbers were brutal. 3,412 of you died within ten seconds of spawning. That's a whole battlefield of instant losses. We had to look at the map and find the culprit.
The spawn point in question sat at the edge of a corridor with three open sightlines. You appeared there with no cover and no time to react. The enemy team could see you from three angles before you could even move. It wasn't a skill issue. It was a design flaw that turned your first steps into a lottery.
We knew something was wrong when we saw the heatmap. The area around that spawn was a solid red blob. Almost every early death clustered right there. No other spawn point on any map came close to that concentration. You were telling us something, and we just had to listen.

So we moved it. One single change. We shifted the spawn point about forty meters east, behind a low wall with two exit routes. That's it. No new weapons, no new mechanics, just a different put it together (avoid start per avoidList) position. And the effect was immediate.
Early deaths within the first ten seconds dropped by 68% across all of last week. That's over two thousand lives saved. You don't need a whole overhaul to fix a problem. Sometimes you just need to look at where your players die and change that one spot.
Why we trust your deaths over our guesses
We've learned not to trust our own assumptions about balance. We thought that corridor was a fair fight because we had more weapons and better movement. But the data showed your experience was completely different. That's why we pulled the death logs and studied them like a report card.
Your death data is the most honest feedback we get. You don't sugarcoat it when you die. You just respawn and try again. Those deaths are a direct signal that something isn't working. When we see a cluster of early deaths in one spot, we know that spot is unfair.

We could have guessed why the spawn felt bad. We could have assumed it was the sightlines or the open space. But we didn't need to guess when we had your actual deaths to point the way. That's the difference between improving the game for you and just hope we get it right.
We made the call to move the spawn point based on your data, not our opinions. It felt like cheating at first, because the fix was so simple. But your deaths told us exactly what to do, and it worked better than any brainstorm session we've had.
That's why we keep saying the real dev team is you. You're the ones playing every single match, dying in those unfair spots, and leaving us a trail of data to follow. We just clean up the mess you find.
The heatmap that changed the map
We're showing you the exact heatmap that led to the fix because you deserve to see what your deaths built. It's a top-down view of the map with a red overlay where early deaths happened. There's a giant red circle right where the old spawn was. It looks like a target, and that's what it was.

In the new heatmap after the move, that red circle is gone. There's a small yellow patch near the new spawn, but it's nothing compared to before. The difference is so clear that you could draw the change with a marker. That's how obvious your data was.
We also tracked the average time-to-first-death across all matches. It went from 22 seconds to 38 seconds after the change. That might not sound huge, but it's a massive shift when you're talking about the first few seconds of a match. It means you're playing the game before you eat a bullet.
Your kill-death ratio improved across the board too, especially for players under level ten. New players used to get shut down before they could learn the map. Now they have a chance to figure out where they are and what they should do. That's exactly what we want from a spawn point.
We're keeping this heatmap in our dev notes as a reminder that your deaths are valuable. Every time you die, you're telling us something about the game. Sometimes it's a minor tweak, and sometimes it's a whole map redesign. But it always put it together (avoid start per avoidList) with your data.

What's next: your vote decides the next spawn fix
We're not stopping with this one spawn point. There are other maps with their own early-death clusters, and we want to fix them the same way we fixed this one. But we're not going to pick which map to touch next. You are.
On the idea board, there's a new vote open right now. It's titled Which spawn point should we fix next? The options are the three maps with the highest early-death rates. You get one vote, and the map with the most votes gets the next spawn fix before we touch anything else.
That's the same process that brought you this fix. We looked at the data, found the worst offender, and then asked you to confirm which one was bugging you the most. You already told us with your deaths, but the vote makes it official.
We'll pull the heatmaps for the winning map and post them in the dev log. You'll see exactly where the early deaths are and what we plan to change. Then we'll make the move and track the results, just like we did here.

So if you want to see early deaths drop on another map, go vote. Your death data already did the work once. With one click, you can point it at the next problem spot. And when we show you the new heatmap, you'll know you did it.
Your deaths made the game better for everyone
Think about what your 3,412 deaths meant for the whole community. Every time you died in that first ten seconds, you were probably frustrated. But your frustration wasn't wasted. It became part of a dataset that changed the game for thousands of players.
Now new players won't have to suffer through that same unfair put it together (avoid start per avoidList). They'll spawn behind cover, get their bearings, and have a chance to fight back. That's a direct result of your deaths. You took one for the team, and we're grateful.
Free browser games like ours rely on player feedback to improve. We can't afford huge focus groups or fancy analytics teams. We just have your matches, your deaths, and your votes. That's enough to make meaningful changes, and we've proven it with this one.

So the next time you die early in a match, don't rage quit. Come to the idea board and tell us where it happened. Your death might be the one that fixes a spawn point for everyone else. That's a pretty good deal for a free game.
We're not going to promise every death will lead to a change. But we will keep listening to your data and your votes. That's how we built this fix, and that's how we'll version the next one.
